Around 26 people turned out on an unusually grey evening in Wycheproof on Wednesday 24 March to learn about the Mallee Sun Solar Bulk-Buy. The event was opened by Councillor David Vis from Buloke Shire Council. Buloke Shire Council is a partner of the Mallee Sun Solar Bulk-Buy which is organised by the Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance, a not-for-profit organisation that works with councils in central and north west Victoria to help increase the uptake of renewable energy.
Residents learned about how solar and battery storage works, what’s available through the Mallee Sun Solar Bulk-Buy – including prices and warranties.
Also covered are details of the various rebates and grants available to households, businesses and farms from the State and Federal Governments.
“We’re delighted at the high levels of interest in the Mallee Sun Solar Bulk-Buy program from residents in the Buloke Shire”, said Jo Kaptein, bulk-buy organiser. “This Wycheproof info meeting follows on from the one we held a month ago in Charlton, in the Buloke Shire, which was also extremely well attended. The first installations from people who ordered following the Charlton meeting are taking place at the end of March which is great news.”
The main presentation was delivered by Nathanael Stegmann of Specialized Solar, the Clean Energy Council Solar Retailer appointed through competitive tender to supply, sell and install solar for the Mallee Sun Solar Bulk-Buy. Also, in attendance to answer questions was Matt Iannucci, owner of Swan Hill Solar and Electrical, who are the local installer for the Mallee Sun Solar Bulk-Buy working as a sub-contractor to Specialized Solar.
