The event, An Evening with Tim Flannery, to be held at the Castlemaine Town Hall on Saturday 26th September has been booked out and the Hub Foundation is naturally delighted.
According to Project Officer, Jo Kaptein, “As there are quite a few things on that weekend, including the Rose’s Gap Music Camp which is popular amongst Castlemaine people, we were initially a bit pessimistic when given the date when Tim was free. However it’s worked really well and we’re thrilled that interest has been so high. We’ve also had terrific support from our sponsors and partners.
“Apart from having Tim Flannery on the stage for an hour, including 30 minutes of Q&A, the event will give local groups such as MASG and 350.org as well as the Council a chance to tell people what they are doing about climate change in the local area” said Kaptein. “There will also be an emphasis on actions which people can take after the event such as switching their power retailer and divesting from fossil fuel companies.
“We do expect to have a few seats available closer to the night as some sponsors may not use their ticket allocations. For that reason, we’ve set up a waiting list on the website: mash.org.au” said Kaptein.
