Mallee Sun Solar Bulk Buy has raised $13,800 which it is now ready to distribute in the form of free solar to one or two not-for-profit community group, social housing co-operative, or kindergarten in the Swan Hill municipality.
Could this be your group?
Mallee Sun Solar Bulk Buy organiser Jo Kaptein said applications were open now, until 23 November.
“This is a shout out to all community groups and schools in the region to put in an application for a solar power system,” Ms Kaptein said.
“This give back to the community, in the form of free solar, is part of the promise we made to Swan Hill and Robinvale residents when we launched the bulk buy back last year.
“This is the second time we’re able to donate money to groups in the region” said Jo Kaptein. “Our first community bonus resulted in fully funded 5.94kW solar power system installed at disability services provider, Vivid, at their site at Harrods Lane.
“With support from Swan Hill Rural City Council, we are now in a position to release the second tranches of community bonus monies.
“Any community group that uses a fair bit of electricity during the daytime, has a suitable roof and does great work in their local community should apply.”
The deadline for applications is Monday, 23 November 2020 at 5pm.
