The fourth round of the successful community solar bulk-buy MASH, the campaign for More Australian Solar Homes, kicked off on 16 April 2018.
The solar supplier for this round is Energy Matters, a Clean Energy Council Accredited Solar Retailer based in South Melbourne who were selected through a competitive public tender process overseen by the Alternative Technology Association. CEC Retailer accreditation is the highest level of accreditation in the Australian solar industry and means that those solar retailers who have signed up to it will honour all warranties for solar PV and home battery systems including the workmanship, product and performance warranties on all components. This negates any need for customers to have to get in touch with the original equipment manufacturers in the case of a warranty claim, making the whole process much smoother and easier.
Energy Matters was also the solar supplier for two earlier rounds of MASH (round 2 and round 3.2 which has just closed). They have a strong commitment to delivering high quality customer service and have developed a very strong working relationship with the organisers of the MASH bulk-buy.
Local installers invited to get involved
Energy Matters has committed to using local solar installers, where possible, on both MASH 4 and the Hepburn Solar Bulk-Buy in order to support local jobs. Any CEC Accredited Solar Installers who’d like to express an interest in working under contract to Energy Matters for MASH round 4 and the Hepburn Solar Bulk-Buy are welcome to get in touch with Energy Matters via email at Varun.Shetty@energymatters.com.au.
MASH 4 covering wide region
MASH 4 will be available to households and organisations in the Mount Alexander and Macedon Ranges Shires as well as the City of Greater Bendigo.
For Hepburn Shire, a ‘sister’ version of the MASH 4 bulk-buy also kicked off in April – and is called the Hepburn Solar Bulk-Buy.
Same prices and products for both bulk-buys
The solar supplier for both bulk-buys is Energy Matters. Solar PV and home battery systems available through these two bulk-buys are exactly the same, as are the prices.
Community bonus is targeted to each area
The prime difference is that the community bonus element of each bulk-buy will be distributed in the region that the bulk-buy operates. So for example, in the case of the Hepburn Solar Bulk-Buy, the community bonus will be allocated to community groups within that Shire. And for MASH 4, the community bonus will be distributed to one or more community groups or schools within the areas of Macedon Ranges and Mount Alexander Shires and the City of Greater Bendigo.
Info meetings coming soon
A new round of info meetings in Mt Alexander and Macedon Ranges shires, as well as the Hepburn Shire are planned for June, July and August. Please follow MASH on Facebook to hear when these meetings are scheduled. Alternatively visit mash.org.au or call our community phone number on 1300-466-274.
